ENVIROMESH
Agralan Enviromesh is a fine mesh netting, woven
from u.v. stabilised polyethylene.
The mesh size is 1.35mm. The weight is around 55g per
sq. metre, light passage 90% and air passage 75%.
The material is very durable and should last at least 10 years.
Enviromesh excludes such insect pests as cabbage root fly, carrot
fly, caterpillars, aphids and leaf miners, as well as birds, rabbits,
hares anddeer.
I
t also provides protection against wind (reducing water loss)
hail and autumn frost.
It will also reduce the occurrence of soiling from rain and irrigation
water splash.
Enviromesh is now available in widths up to 15m. New technology
means these sheets are produced without seams.
|
Uses
Enviromesh can be used in organic farming, on crops where
insecticides are not available (e.g. minor crops), on
crops where insecticides give
inadequate control (e.g. brassicae root crops), where
insecticides become less effective due to the occurrence
of new pests, development of resistance or increased microbial
breakdown of soil insecticides.
It is also very effective in reducing soiling of salad
crops caused by rain splash.
Enviromesh is available in a range of widths, in standard
roll lengths of 100m.

SPECIAL NETS
Fine netting woven from u.v. stabilised polyethylene fibre. It
is lightweight, very strong and durable.
Light transmission and air movement are good, but vary according
to mesh size.
Mesh sizes are available for exclusion of leafminers, aphids and
thrips.
S48 mesh size 0.8 x 0.8 mm excludes leafminer and whitefly
S64 mesh size 0.6 x 0.6 mm excludes aphids
SE160 mesh size 0.17 x 0.37 mm excludes thrips
|
Uses
For insect proofing glasshouse vents and doors and the creation
of isolation/quarantine areas for flying insect pests.
Also for the total or partial cladding of tunnels to create ventilated,
pestfree environments.

ENVIROMESH ‘ULTRA
FINE’
Enviromesh ‘Ultra Fine’ is a very fine mesh netting
woven from u.v. stabilised polyethylene.
The mesh size is 0.8 x 0.8mm.
The netting is very durable with a life expectancy of at least
ten years.
|
Uses
Enviromesh ‘Ultra Fine’ will protect against flea
beetle. Long term covering (more than five weeks) is not recommended
unless supported on hoops. Light weight (17g) fleece will also
protect against flea beetle, but the limited ventilation may encourage
disease and on delicate crops wind ‘rubbing’ may damage
the crop. Enviromesh ‘Ultra Fine’ is considerably
more durable and is likely to be used many times over.

PROTECTION NETTING
Lightweight and durable, anti-bird netting, very
effective against pigeons.
The mesh size is 7mm x 7mm which will also provide protection
against certain butterflies and moths (including cabbage white,
turnip moth and silver y).
May be laid over plants without additional support.
The small mesh also means that it can be used
|
Available in a range of widths from 4 – 16m.

INSECT BARRIER GLUE
Vine weevil and ant deterrent. The glue may be used to create a
barrier against vine weevil and other crawling pests (e.g. winter
moths, ants,
earwigs etc.)
It may be applied to a strip of PVC tape so that it may be easily
removed.
In the greenhouse individual plant pots or bench areas may be
protected.
Alternatively the whole greenhouse may be protected by running
a treated band around the base.
For protection of trees it may be applied direct to the trunk
as a band, as long as the bark is mature. Where the bark is not
mature, it should be applied to a protective band.
For field grown strawberries, glue should be applied to a ‘fence’
of polythene or Enviromesh.
For strawberries grown on suspended tables, it should be applied
to the support poles.
Supplied in cartridges to fit a
standard
‘mastic gun’.
